Our aluminium systems are built on Cortizo profiles, a Spanish manufacturer specialising in slim-sightline aluminium systems. Panel sizes are available up to 1200mm wide per leaf, with 7 or more leaves possible on the widest installations.
The Cortizo profile delivers a sightline of around 96mm between adjacent panels when closed. Compared with uPVC bifold profiles of 120mm or more, the aluminium option gives the appearance of significantly more glass when closed.
Bifold patio doors are a popular choice, typically fitted between the main living space and the rear garden. They give you a wide-open aperture for summer use and a fully sealed, weather-tight closure for winter.

For a higher level of residential security, Secured by Design accreditation is available with the appropriate cylinder and locking specification.
Aluminium bifold doors achieve U-values around 1.3 to 1.5 W/m²K with double glazing, dropping to 1.0 W/m²K or lower with triple glazing. The thermal break in the aluminium profile prevents the cold-bridging that older aluminium designs suffered from.
Acoustic-laminated glass is available as a glazing upgrade for properties near busy roads or flight paths. Folding glass doors with decorative or privacy glass are available for properties wanting bifolds with decorative glazing rather than clear.
Two threshold options are available. Fully-weathered thresholds rise above floor level for maximum weather protection on exposed elevations. Aluminium thermally-broken low thresholds sit nearly flush with the floor for step-free access and meet Part M accessibility requirements.
Both threshold options include integrated drainage to prevent water ingress in normal UK weather.
