A panel is a flat, usually rectangular part of the door, which is its main surface, and is surrounded by the door frame. A panel can be made of various materials (e.g. wood, metal, glass, plastic), and its appearance and properties depend on the purpose of the door, aesthetic and functional requirements. Depending on the design, a door panel can be smooth, frescoed, decorated with patterns or glazed.
