Veneer

Veneer

Veneer is a thin layer of wood, usually of a thickness of 0,3 mm to several millimetres, cut or machine cut from logs. Veneer is mainly used in the furniture and carpentry industries. Its application makes it possible to achieve an attractive appearance of natural wood at much lower costs than in the case of solid wood. Veneer can be cut from different wood species and in different directions relative to the grain, allowing for different patterns and textures. It is most often used in the production of furniture, where on the core of cheaper material (e.g. particle board or MDF) veneer is applied, giving the appearance of solid wood. Veneer is also used in the manufacture of doors, wall panels, musical instruments and other carpentry products.
